Brett Olmsted is a Professor of History at a Community College in Texas. He earned his Ph.D. in History from the University of Houston in 2017. His area of specialization is 20th Century U.S. History, with a focus on Mexican American History examining the intersection of immigration, labor, politics, community, and placemaking. He is currently in the final stages of publishing his monograph entitled Making Michigan Home: Mexican Americans Bridging the Rural-Urban Experience (University of Illinois Press, 2025).
